How to make Sicilian Lemon Tart

Number Of Ingredients 8

pie shell
18 ounce mascarpone cheese
1 cup lemon curd
2 Tablespoons Limoncello
1 tsp vanilla
1cup whipping cream
powdersugar to taste
1/2 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • Bake pie crust just until the bottom is golden brown. Set on a rack to cool. Using a mixer,blend mascarpone cheese, lemon curd, limoncello if using and vanilla until smooth. When crust is cool, pour filling into the crust and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. watch the tart carefully as you do not want to overbake this. It will be jiggly and appear lightly cooked. Cool on rack and refrigerate until ready toserve. Whip cream, sugar and vanilla together to medium peaks. You don't want the whipping cream too soft or too firm. Cover tart with whipped creaam. Grate lemon zest over the top.
