SHELLS WITH BROCCOLI-TOMATO SAUCE image

2 slices bacon, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 jar (26 to 28 ounces) tomato pasta sauce
2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen chopped broccoli
1 pound medium pasta shells
1 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Cook bacon and onion in large pot over medium high heat until onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Add pasta sauce and bring to a boil. Stir in broccoli, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cook shells according to package directions. 2. Stir half-and-half into sauce; heat through. Serve shells tossed with sauce and sprinkled with Parmesan.
