Shelley's Chocolate Chip Cookies image

These were a yearly Christmas gift from my sister. She had this recipe down pat and they were scrumptious! I always double the recipe (not the salt and use your judgement on the chocolate chips ;) Bake for 10 - 12 minutes.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/4 c butter (do not substitute)
1 large egg
1/2 c white sugar
1/4 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips (small pkg)

Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, cream butter, egg, sugars and vanilla with a spoon until smooth.
  • 2. In a separate bowl, sift flour, soda and salt together then gradually stir dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  • 3. Add chocolate chips. Blend all ingredients together with a spoon.
  • 4. Drop a spoonful of mix onto ungreased non-stick cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 10-12 mins. Makes 20-24 cookies, more if you drop smaller batches.
