Santa's Whiskers Cookies image

These are beautiful holiday cookies and so delicious! These are my children's favorite (mine, too)!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup(s) butter, softened
1 cup(s) sugar
2 tablespoon(s) milk
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
2 1/2 cup(s) all purpose flour, sifted
3/4 cup(s) each, red and green candied cherries
1/2 cup(s) pecans, in pieces
3/4 cup(s) coconut, flaked

Steps:

  • Cream together butter and sugar; blend in milk and vanilla extract.
  • Stir in flour, cherries and pecans.
  • Form into 2 "logs" - each about 2" in diameter and 8" long. Roll in coconut. Wrap in wax paper and chill several hours or overnight. (Can be frozen at this point, too).
  • Slice chilled cookie dough 1/4" thick; place on ungreased or parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes or until edges are golden.
