Refrigerator Cukes image

My dear mother in law gave me this recipe. Keeps well and no canning involved. Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 9

7 cup(s) cucumbers, kirby, sliced
1 cup(s) onion, sliced
1 tablespoon(s) salt
2 cup(s) sugar
1 cup(s) white vinegar
1/2 cup(s) water
1 teaspoon(s) celery seed
1 bunch(es) dill, fresh
3-4 clove(s) garlic

Steps:

  • In a large bowl combine cucumbers, onion and salt. Cover and let stand for 1 hour.
  • In a saucepan combine sugar, vinegar, water and celery seed. Allow to come to a boil and simmer until sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool.
  • Drain cucumbers well. Pour cooled sugar mixture over cucumbers. Add dill and garlic.
  • Refrigerate for 1-2 days. Place in sterile jars. Store refrigerated.
