RED CLAM SAUCE image

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 tablespoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
28 oz. can Italian plum tomatoes diced or crushed
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon fresh oregano or basil
2 6-1/2 cans clams, undrained

Steps:

  • Heat oil in skillet and saute garlic for 1 minute. Add tomatoes and blend well. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Add seasonings, cover and simmer 20 minutes. Stir in clams and liquid. Add pepper to taste and simmer uncovered until sauce thickens, about 15 to 20 minutes.
