REALLY EASY APPLE FRITTERS image

Ever have extra apples on hand and wonder what to do with them? You're bored with apple pie, apple salad, etc. How about some apple fritters? A welcome change from the same ol', same ol'. Recipe: Paula Deen

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 Tbsp oil
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c milk
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 c sour cream
1 c self rising flour
3 apples, peeled and sliced about 1/4 inch thick
powdered sugar

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, sugar, cinnamon and sour cream. Mix well and add the flour.
  • 2. Heat 2 Tbsp. oil in a large skillet to 375 degrees F. Dip the apples in batter and place in hot oil. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Turn and cook another 1 to 2 minutes.
  • 3. Remove fritters and drain. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm. Enjoy!
  • 4. Told ya they were easy!
  • 5. NOTE: If you don't have self-rising flour on hand you can make your own: 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
