My mom, who is 89, says this recipe is from the last depression. It is really good and can stretch a pound of ground beef. It is also very low in carbs!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 medium white onions
2 tablespoon(s) olive oil
1-4 clove(s) garlic, minced
1 pound(s) ground beef (or pork)
1 - cabbage head, shredded
- sour cream or greek yogurt, optional as topping
- salt and fresh ground pepper

Steps:

  • Saute onions in oil until translucent. Add garlic and cook until you smell the garlic, Add meat and brown. Season with salt and pepper, Add cabbage on top of beef, season again and cover. Cook until cabbage is wilted. Serve with dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt if desired.
