Number Of Ingredients 21

For The BBQ Sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon BBQ rub or chili powder
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon dried minced onion
2 tablespoons apple jelly
1 tablespoon apple pie flavored moonshine, optional, or substitute apple juice or Dr Pepper
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
For The Dry Rub
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic pepper seasoning
1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
For the tenderloins and rolls
2 pork tenderloins
Butter substitute spray
16 Sweet Hawaiian rolls

Steps:

  • Preheat your grill to medium heat (350-400 degrees).
  • Place a small saucepan on medium heat and stir together the barbecue sauce ingredients. Bring to a simmer for 5 minutes and then allow to cool.
  • Mix together the dry rub ingredients.
  • Trim the silver skin from your tenderloins, fold the thin end under the tenderloin and then tie it in place with butcher's string.
  • Season the tenderloins with the rub.
  • Spritz the tenderloins with the butter substitute spray and place on the grill. Cook until they reach an internal temperature of 140 degrees, turning every 3-4 minutes to form a nice crust.
  • Remove the pork from the grill and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
  • Spritz the insides of the rolls and toast on the grill for about 20-30 seconds, then remove.
  • Slice the tenderloin, place on toasted buns, drizzle with sauce and serve.
