Pork Ribs with Apple Butter Sauce image

4 pounds country-style pork ribs
1 jar 14-ounce apple butter
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 dash ground red pepper
1 dash ground cumin

Steps:

  • Cook ribs, covered, in enough boiling salted water to cover for 45 to 60 minutes or till tender. Drain well; season ribs with salt and pepper.
  • Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan. Brnig to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered 25 minutes, or till reduced to 2 cups, stirring occasionally.
  • Grill ribs over slow coals for 45 minutes, turning every 15 minutes or till done.
  • Brush with sauce during the last 15 minutes.
