PILLOW-SOFT DINNER ROLLS image

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 1/2 tablespoons of active dry yeast
1/2 cup of warm water (110 degrees)
2 cups of warm milk (110 degrees - microwave 75 seconds)
6 tablespoons of shortening
2 eggs
1/4 cup of sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
7 cups of all purpose flour

Steps:

  • 1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the milk, shortening, eggs, sugar, salt and 3 cups of flour. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft- dough. 2. Turn on floured surface, knead until smooth and elastic about 6-8 minutes (dough will be sticky). Place in a greased bowl,, turning once to grease top. Cover and let stand for 1 hour in a warm place, dough will double in size. 3. Punch dough down. Tunr on a lightly floured surface, divide into 24 pieces. Shape each into a roll. Place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 1/2 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks.
