Number Of Ingredients 12

1 Tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion (chopped)
1 medium green pepper (chopped)
2 Tbsp steak sauce
1 c beef broth
salt and pepper
1 pkg dinner rolls (12-18 needed)
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 c milk
1 c provolone cheese (shredded)

Steps:

  • 1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the oil.
  • 2. Then brown the ground beef, about 5-6 minutes.
  • 3. Add the onion and green pepper and cook another 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables start to get tender.
  • 4. Stir in the steak sauce and beef broth, season with salt and pepper.
  • 5. Bring up to a bubble and cook about 2 minutes.
  • 6. Split open rolls and remove most of the soft insides, leaving a bed to hold the meat mixture.
  • 7. Toast the rolls and set aside.
  • 8. While the meat is cooking, melt the butter in a medium-size pot over medium-high heat. Stir in the flour and cook about 1 minute.
  • 9. Whisk in milk.
  • 10. Bring up to a bubble and let thicken, about 2 minutes.
  • 11. Turn off heat and stir in the cheese.
  • 12. To serve, place a scoopful of the meat mixture onto the bottom of the rolls.
  • 13. Then top with the cheese sauce.
  • 14. Replace the top of the roll.
