Pet Milk Bread Pudding image

Mama got this recipe from the Pet Milk can when I was about 6 , its been used in our family over 50 years now

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 stick(s) butter or margarine
6 large eggs , beaten
1 can(s) 12 oz pet milk
1 can(s) 12 oz water
1 1/2 cup(s) sugar
12 slice(s) dry bread ( or enough to fill pan)
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
1 cup(s) raisins

Steps:

  • Spray or butter 9x13 pan liberally , Fill pan with broken pieces of bread.
  • Beat eggs until frothy , ass sugar , milk , water , vanilla and melted butter and mix. Pour over bread. Evenly sprinkle raisins over bread Sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon if desired .
  • Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour or until done.
