Penne With Green Beans And Basil image

this is a great side dish you can serve with anything

Number Of Ingredients 9

8 ounce(s) penne pasta, or bow tie
1 pound(s) green beans, trimmed and each cut in half
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 tablespoon(s) water
1 cup(s) loosely packed fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup(s) olive oil, extra virgin
1/2 teaspoon(s) black pepper
1 medium tomato, chopped
- small basil leaves for garnish

Steps:

  • in large saucepan, cook penne as label directs. meanwhile, in 12 inch skillet, heat 1 inch water to boiling over high heat.
  • add green beans and 1/2 teaspoon salt, heat to boiling. cook beans until tender, 8-10 minutes. drain beans. rinse beans under cold running water to cool slightly, drain again.
