Peach Basil Iced Tea image

Peaches and summertime. They just go together. And this drink has the added taste and fragrance of fresh basil.

Number Of Ingredients 6

- 3 oragne pekoe tea bags
- 1 cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves
- 5 cups water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 can peach nectar, chilled, 15 oz
- peach slices and sprigs of basil, optional

Steps:

  • Mix the tea bags and basil leaves in a large glass measure or heatproof bowl.
  • Bring water to a boil in pan and pour over the tea bags. Steep for 5 minutes; strain through a sieve into a heatproof pitcher.
  • Add sugar and stir til dissolved. Cool and refrigerate, covered for 1 hour or til cold. Stir in peach nectar. serve over ice in tall glasses. Garnish with peach slices and sprigs of basil.
