Steps:
- Regular mixer: 2 TB yeast ½ cup sugar ½ cup shortening (butter) 1 ½ cups warm water 3 eggs 5 cups flour 2 tsp salt Dissolve yeast and ½ tsp sugar in ½ cup warm water and set aside. Cream butter and sugar, add well beaten eggs, remaining 1 cup warm water, and yeast mixture. Beat together with electric beater. Add flour and salt in 3 batches, continue beating 5 minutes until glossy. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Punch down. Cover bowl with oiled plastic wrap and secure with rubber band till tight. (I usually put it in a Tupperware bowl with a lid.) Cool overnight in the frig. Punch down and roll out about 2 hours before baking. After they have risen, bake at 340 degrees for 10 - 15 minutes. Makes about 36 rolls.
