Orchard Peach Cobbler image

I have made this recipe several times and it is one of my absoulte favorites. I get many requests for this cobbler and it has become one that I bring often to potluck or make when friends are coming over. I have also substituted apricots and it works well. I tend to freeze my peaches ahead of time in gallon freezer bags, then pull them out when I want to make the cobbler. Then it can be enjoyed year round!

1 1/2 cups sugar
6 tablespoons margarine
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk (can substitute soy milk)
