One Bowl Applesauce Cake image

Easy to make with ingredients that are usually right at hand in my house..my mother would make this for after school snack,

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 1/4 c flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c butter, softened
1 c molasses
1 egg
1 c applesauce
1/4 c raisins

Steps:

  • 1. Oven at 350. Grease and flour 8-inch square baking pan.
  • 2. Combine all dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Add molasses, egg and applesauce.Beat well. Stir in raisins.
  • 3. Bake for 40-45 minutes.Cool slightly and turn out on cake rack. Dust with 10x sugar or glaze.
  • 4. Glaze: Mix 1 1/2 TBS lemon juice with 3/4 cup 10x sugar.
