Nanny's Chocolate Chip Cookies image

Since I was a little girl, I have been baking cookies, always trying to make them 'better'. I'm still doing this and my family and friends love it because they are always the 'testers'!!! Chocolate Chip cookies are the number one favorite and even tho I am a Grandma, I am still 'trying' new ways of baking!

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 cup(s) crisco
1/2 cup(s) real butter, browned and cooled
2 cup(s) brown sugar
3 - eggs
1 - egg yolk
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla
4 cup(s) flour
2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1 package(s) 12 oz. real chocolate chips
1 cup(s) walnuts or pecans, if desired

Steps:

  • Preset oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter, Crisco, brown sugar and add eggs and vanilla until creamy.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt and add to sugar mixture. Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chips (12 oz. bag) and 1 cup of walnuts or pecans, if desired.
  • Use cookie scoop or tablespoon and put on 9X13 non-greased pan, 12 cookies on each pan. Bake 9-11 minutes. Some like their cookies soft, some crispy so the time is individual.
  • Put those little ones on the counter and let them help. (The extra spills can be cleaned up and the memories will be well worth it!)
