MY BACON AND CHEESE MEATBALLS image

Number Of Ingredients 15

500-750gr mince
1 finely chopped onion
1/2 cup fresh breadcrumbs
1 egg
1/2 cup grated zucchini
8 rashers bacon, halved
250gr mozzarella cheese
1 quantity tomato suace
TOMATO SAUCE
1 onion, finely sliced
1 red capsicum, finely sliced
1/2 teaspoon oregano
425gr. can tomato puree
chopped parsley
black pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Combine mince, onion, breadcrumbs, egg and zucchini - mixing well. Form into balls. Wrap a piece of bacon around and secure with a toothpick. Place in shallow baking dish and bake 200C for about 25 mins. Remove toothpicks and pour over tomto sauce, top with slices of mozzarellla cheese. Return to oven and bake for a further 7-10 mins or until cheese melts.
