MOM'S ROLLS image

Yield 24? Rolls

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup milk, scalded
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 Tbsp salt
5 cups flour
2 Tbsp yeast in 1/2 cup warm water
1 Tbsp sugar
3 eggs, beaten

Steps:

  • Dissolve yeast in water and 1 Tbsp sugar. Add scalded milk to 1/2 sugar, shortening and salt. Let cool to lukewarm. Sift together flour and salt. Combine milk mixture, yeast mixture and beaten eggs. Add flour mixture and mix well. Let rise for 1 hour. Knead down. Let rise for 1 hour. Roll out and cut or shape. Let rise again and bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
