Mom's Goulash image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 lb Oscar Mayer Bacon strips
2 large onions
1/4 stick butter
A few dashes of good olive oil
1 red, 1 green pepper, cleaned and diced
1 clove finely diced garlic
3 lb ground beef
2 cans Del Monte Diced Tomatoes
1 can dark kidney beans
2 lb medium pasta shells
Salt & pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Slice bacon into 1 inch squares and cook till almost crisp. Drain and set aside.
  • Cut both onions in half, cut side down thickly julienne. Using same skillet pat dry. Add butter and oil to skillet and saute peppers for about 10 minutes. Add onions and cook until onions just begin to get translucent. Add diced garlic. Add bacon and set on very low heat on back burner stirring occasionally!!
  • In large skillet brown your ground beef and drain well. Add bacon, peppers, garlic, and onions to beef. Add tomatoes and kidney beans. Cover and simmer on very low heat always remembering to stir occasionally!!
  • Now cook your pasta a little pasta al dente until all dark yellow disappears from shells! Drain and mix all together in very large pot. Ready to serve!!!
