MOM BASELEY'S BEAN SOUP image

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 hambone, approx 3-4 pounds trimmed as preferred
1 onion diced
1 one-pound package of Great Northern Beans (rinsed)
1 cup of dice carrots
1 cup of diced potatoes
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Place ham bone and onion in large pot and just cover with water. Bring to boil, then simmer about 1-2 hours. Add beans and continue to simmmer 1-2 hours. Add carrots and potatoes and cook til tender. Remove ham bone, add some of trimmed meat if desired til meat is heated. Serve or cool and reheat for later.
