Time 1h20m

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 lb ground round, or lean ground beef
1/2 lb bulk pork sausage
1 can(s) (12 ounce) evaporated milk
2 1/2 slice bread, broken into penny sized pieces (stale or dry is okay)
1 medium onion, finely chopped, or 2 tablespoons of dried minced onion
2 clove garlic, ground or 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
2 Tbsp dried parsley
1 Tbsp italian seasoning, dried or
1 tsp sweet basil, dried
1/4 tsp oregano, dried
1/4 tsp marjoram, dried
1/4 tsp thyme, dried
2 large eggs
2 carrots, washed, peeled and grated
2 Tbsp catsup

Steps:

  • 1. Please note that you only need the listed spices above IF you DO NOT have a mixed Italian Seasoning on hand; but you DO have the other seasonings.
  • 2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Pour the evaporated milk into a small bowl, and put the bread pieces in to soak.
  • 3. In a large bowl, mix the remaining ingredients together with your hands until thoroughly blended, adding in the milk and bread at the end, when completely soaked.
  • 4. Divide the meat mixture evenly between two prepared loaf pans and flatten the top with your hands. Bake for 1 hour.
  • 5. Remove from the oven and place on a serving platter. You may want to garnish with steamed vegetables. Excellent served with Tomato Aspic, Chili Sauce, Catsup or Salsa. Yield: 2 meat loaves
  • 6. NOTE: If you don't have many at your table, you may want to freeze a loaf for ease on another day, or give one away to a friend in need of help with thier dinner.
