Maple Walnut Muffins image

Oh so delicious on those cool fall mornings.

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 c all purpose flour
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 c toasted chopped walnuts
1/2 c buttermilk
1/2 c maple syrup
1/3 c butter,melted
1 large egg,beaten
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp maple extract

Steps:

  • 1. To toast chopped walnuts:place in a single layer on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 6-7 minutes.
  • 2. Stir together sifted flour,brown sugar,baking powder,baking soda and salt.
  • 3. Stir toasted nuts into dry ingredients.
  • 4. In another bowl,stir together buttermilk,maple syrup,butter,egg,vanilla and maple extract until blended.
  • 5. Add buttermild mixture to dry ingredients and stir just to combine.
  • 6. Spoon batter into greased or lined muffin tins.
  • 7. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 min.
