My Husband told me about this chili recipe before we were married. He said he had made a batch in the crockpot to try it and when he got home from work, his roommate had eaten the whole batch except for about 8 oz. Told him it was the best chili he had ever eaten. 3 slices bacon, diced
1/2 pound hot italian link sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 pound ground chuck
2 medium onions, chopped
1 green pepper, seeded/chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded/chopped
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
2-3 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
2 cans (14 oz each) italian-style tomatoes
1 can (16 oz) pinto beans, drained
1 can (16 oz) garbanzos, chickpeas, or kidney beans, drained

Steps:

  • 1. In large skillet, brown bacon pieces until crisp. Remove from skillet; drain well. Place in crockpot
  • 2. In the same skillet brown sausage and ground chuck with onions over medium heat; drain and add to crockpot.
  • 3. Add remaining ingredients; stir well. Cover and cook on Low for 8-14 hours
  • 4. Taste for seasoning. Adjust to taste. Serve in your favorite big chili bowls.
