Yield 10

Number Of Ingredients 10

3/4 c. low-fat buttermilk
1 T. canola oil
1 c. flour
1 c. cake flour
1 T. sugar
1.5 t. baking powder
1/2 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1.5 T. cold butter, sm. pieces
1 T. low-fat milk, to brush

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 425* Parchment paper lined pan. In a measuring cup, combine the buttermilk and oil. Set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, sugar, baking powder, soda, and slat. Cut butter into the dry ingredients until crumbly. Make a well in the center and gradually pour in the buttermilk and oil mixture, stirring with a fork, until just combined. Transfer dough to a floured surface and sprinkle with flour. Lightly knead for 30 seconds, then pat or roll out to an even half-inch thickness. Cut biscuits and transfer to lined sheet pan. Brush tops with milk. Bake 8 - 10 minutes, until golden brown. Serve hot.
