Joanne's Asian Sauce image

This sauce is the result of my, son, Michael and I experimenting with dinner one night. I had grilled some pork chops and we were looking for a sauce to liven them up. We just started throwing ingredients in a pan and this is what we came up with. We enjoy it on pork or chicken!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 - large onion sliced thin
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. - oil
1/2 - hoison sauce
2/3 cup(s) yoshida's gourmet sauce or teryaki sauce
1 tablespoon(s) minced fresh ginger or 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
3 tablespoon(s) honey
3/4 cup(s) apricot preserves or orange marmalade

Steps:

  • Saute onion in oil until translucent.
  • Add garlic. And cook for another minute or so on low heat.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients, stir to combine and then simmer for approximately 10 minutes, stirring every once in a while.
  • While sauce is summering, season either chicken cutlets or pork chops with seasoning of your choice (salt and pepper; Montreal seasoning; any dry chicken or pork rub.) Grill meat.
  • Place cooked meat in an oven proof casserole. Pour sauce over top. Place in 250 degree oven to hang out for a while - maybe about 10 minutes. Then serve. Delish.
