Jewish Apple Cake image

There's a good chance you've never heard of a Jewish Apple Cake. But trust me, once you make this American Classic it will become a family favorite.

Number Of Ingredients 12

6 medium Gala or Fuji apples (frozen peeled apples work too)
5 tbsp granulated sugar
1½ tsp cinnamon (more can be used if you like cinnamon)
2¾ cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
¼ cup orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest
2½ tsp vanilla extract
4 large eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.*Place a cake circle with a cut out for the tube pan in the bottom of the pan. This will make it easier to remove from the pan.
