Jello in a Can image

One day Leanne and I were talking about gelatin salads and discovered both our Mothers made this salad when we were growing up.Must have been popular in the 60's! I make it now for my family and I'm sure Leanne does too.I thought she had posted this recipe but I see she hadn't so I'm posting it. You can serve this with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream to serve as a dessert.

Number Of Ingredients 4

- 1 (20 oz) can sliced pineapple
- 3 oz pkg lime jello
- 1 c boiling water
- small container cottage cheese

Steps:

  • Drain juice from a can of sliced pineapple.Leave the pineapple in the can. Dissolve Jello in 1 cup boiling water (use the pineapple juice and water to equal 1 cup liquid) Pour hot Jello water over pineapple rings in the can. Chill until set. Run hot water on the sides and bottom of can to loosen. Then cut the bottom of the can and push the mold out. Cut between pineapple slices and serve with a scoop of cottage cheese.
