Instant Pot® Spanish Rice with Ground Beef image

Spanish rice gets a flavorful addition of ground beef in this quick and easy meal that's prepared in a pressure cooker.

1 pound ground beef
2 (14 ounce) cans petite diced tomatoes
1 cup long-grain rice
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup chopped onion
¼ cup beef broth
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon browning and seasoning sauce (such as Kitchen Bouquet)
1 teaspoon dried thyme

Steps:

  • Turn on a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) and select Saute function. Cook and stir until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain if necessary.
  • Stir tomatoes, rice, bell pepper, onion, beef broth, garlic, chili powder, seasoning sauce, and thyme into the pot. Close and lock the lid. Select low pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 12 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
  • Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer's instructions for 10 minutes. Unlock and remove the lid.
