- Preheat oven to 425. In a large skillet add ground beef and onion. Break up and cook until onion is tender and meat is browned. Drain off fat. Stir soup, tomato sauce, corn, olives, chili powder and pepper to meat mixture. Bring just to boiling and spoon into a 2-quart baking dish. Set aside. In a medium bowl combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a small bowl whisk together egg, buttermilk, and oil, Add to cornmeal mixture, stir until batter is smooth. Spread over meat mixture and bake for 35 minutes or until top of crust in nice and brown. Serve warm.
