Honey Oatmeal Cookies image

This soft and chewy cookie has been a favorite of my children and now my grandchildren. Bake up a batch and try them, you won't be sorry.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/4 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
2 eggs
1/3 c honey
1 3/4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 c oats
1 c raisins

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 375°.
  • 2. Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and honey.
  • 3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • 4. Using a medium size (2 teaspoons) cookie scoop, drop dough about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • 5. Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire racks to cool. Store in a tightly covered cookie jar or canister to keep moist.
