Heidelberg Meat Loaf image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1.5 lb lean ground beef
3 slice rye bread, torn up
1 c beer or bouillon
1 large egg
1/4 c onion, chopped
1 tsp salt
1 tsp caraway seeds, optional
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/4 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2. Mix all of the ingredients together.
  • 3. Spread the mixture into an ungreased loaf pan, 9 X 5 X 3-inches.
  • 4. Bake uncovered for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
  • 5. Drain off the excess fat and let stand for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
  • 6. Serve on a heated platter.
