HAZELNUT AMARETTO LOAF image

1-pound/1 1/2-pound
2 cups/3 cups bread flour
2/3 cup/1 cup milk
1/2 cup/3/4 cup toasted chopped hazelnuts
1/1 egg
2 tablespoons/3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons/3 tablespoons margarine or butter
4 teaspoons/2 tablespoons amaretto or hazelnut liqueur
3/4 teaspoon/1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon/3/4 teaspoon salt
1 recipe Amaretto Glaze
toasted chopped hazelnuts or almonds (optional)

Steps:

  • Add flour, milk, the 1/2 or 3/4 cup nuts, egg, sugar, margarine or butter, liqueur, year, and salt to the bread machine according to the manufacturer's directions. Bake and cool as directed. When bread is cool, drizzle with Amaretto Glaze. Makes 1 (1- or 1 1/2-pound)loaf. Amaretto Glaze: In a small mixing bowl combine 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon amaretto or hazelnut liqueur or 1/2 teaspoon almond extract.
