Hamburger Stew image

a thick and hearty soup, filling and very good. Easy and quick to make. A family favorite in our house!

Number Of Ingredients 16

13 cups water (i used beef broth)
1 lb ground beef
4 large potatoes
1 1/2 cups celery
1 1/2 cups carrots
1 large onion
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
3 tablespoons parsley
1 tablespoon basil
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons cayenne
5 dashes Tabasco sauce
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons pepper

Steps:

  • chop potato's, onion, carrots, and celery. set aside.
  • in a pot place 12 cups of water or beef broth, potatos, onion, celery, and carrots. bring to a boil and let simmer until potato's are soft.
  • while potato's are boiling brown hamburger meat. and set aside.
  • when potato's are done add hamburger meat, tomato sauce, parsley, basil, garlic powder. onion powder, cayenne, salt, pepper, and Tabasco sauce let simmer about 10 minutes.
  • in a small bowl add 1 cup of water or beef broth and flour. when well mixed add to potato's and stir until thicken (about 3 mins).
