hamburger and kidney beans image

My Gram created this and it has been one of my familys favorites! This is a inexpensive, quick, filling dish but you must like kidney beans as the flavor of the beans is prominent

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 1/2 lb hamburder
1/2 medium onion (diced)
1 can(s) light kidney beans
10 oz water
salt and pepper to taste
mashed potatoes

Steps:

  • 1. Brown hamburger and onions, drain off fat. Add kidney beans and water, simmer until beans split. While thats simmering, make as many mashed potatoes as you will need for amount of servings you will need. When beans have split, using a potato masher, mash hamburger and beans to create a gravy. Serve burger and bean gravy over mashed potates
