This copycat recipe has a history with Sylvester Graham(Graham crackers), Dr. J.C. Jackson,(Graham flour),Dr. J.H. Kellogg (Battle Creek Sanitarium) and then C.W. Post(Grape Nuts). Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 c butter
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/3 c maple syrup
1/4 c molasses
1/4 c honey
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp cinnamon
5 c old fashioned oats
1 1/2 c chopped coconut or shredded
3/4 c almonds
3/4 c pecans, in pieces
1/2 c walnut pieces
1/2 c raisins or chopped dried fruit

Steps:

  • 1. Combine butter, maple syrup,brown sugar, honey, molasses, vanilla and cinnamon in a saucepan; place over medium heat and cook, stirring often, until sugar dissolves.
  • 2. Combine remaining ingredients in a large heat-proof bowl. Pour hot mixture over mixture in bowl, Stir until thoroughly blended--Mixture will appear wet. Press mixture in a large pan or pans in a thin layer.
  • 3. Bake at 325^ for 15 minutes stirring after 10 minutes. Bake 5 minutes more. Remove from oven, cool, break up into chunks and then store in an air tight container. Enjoy!!
