Granny Smith Apples In Puff Pastry image

I love apples and puff pastry. This is for one serving but you can make a few, one is never enough! Sprinkle the outside of the pastry with more Xylitol, or white sugar if you prefer... it will add to add to the crunch!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 medium granny smith apples
1/4 - sheet puff pastry, thawed
2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
1 tablespoon(s) xylitol
- a few raisins or craisons
1 - mint leaf, optional

Steps:

  • Peel and core your apple.
  • Mix the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  • Place the raisins inside the opening where you cored the apple.
  • Place the brown sugar/spice mixture into the hole on top of the raisins.
  • Roll out the puff pastry to fit around the apple. Sprinkle it with your xylitol.
  • Wrap the pastry sheet over the apple bringing the 4 corners up and seal on the top.
  • Bake at 400'F for 35-45 minutes.
  • Garnish with your favourite topping, ice cream and a mint leaf if you like.
  • Enjoy!
