GRANDMA BETTY'S LASAGNA RECIPE image

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 lb hot italian sausage
1 clove garlic
1 Tablespoon chopped parsley
1 Tablespoon dried basil
1 1/2 teas salt
1 large can Italian style tomatoes
2 6 oz cans tomato paste
1 10 ounce package lasagna noodles
3 cups ricotta cheese
2 beaten eggs
2 teas. salt
1/2 teas pepper
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 lb mozzarella cheese sliced thin

Steps:

  • Brown meat slowly. Spoon off excess fat. Add next six ingredients. Simmer uncovered till thick, about 45 minutes stirring occasionally. Cook noodles, rince in cold water. Combine ricotta, eggs, salt, pepper, parsley, parmesan. Place half noodles in 13x9x2 inch baking dish; spread on half of the cheese-egg mixture, half mozzarella, half meat sauce. Repeat layers. Bake inmoderate oven 375 for 30 - 45 minutes. Let stand 10-15 minutes before cutting in squares.
