Giovanna's Banana Daiquiri image

This recipe comes to us from Giovanna Huyke, host of the Puerto Rican television program "La Cocina de Giovanna." Finger bananas have a richer sweetness than larger bananas. A mango, or another fresh tropical fruit, may be used instead of bananas.

Yield Makes 4 six-ounce drinks

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 cup freshly squeezed (about 3 limes) lime juice
1/2 cup white rum
4 finger bananas, or 2 large bananas, plus 4 slices for garnish
2 tablespoons granular or superfine sugar
2 cups ice cubes

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine lime juice, rum, bananas, sugar, and ice. Blend until smooth, pour into glasses, and garnish with a slice of banana.
