Steps:
- Crust: In a food processor, process macaroons and butter until coarsely ground. Add nuts, process until mixture holds together. Press in bottom of 10X3 inch springform pan. Bake at 375 C, 7 - 10 minutes until golden. Filling: In large bowl, place egg whites, sugar, sliced strawberries, vanilla and lemon juice and using electric mixer, beat on low speed. Increase to high spped and beat until firm peaks form, about 10 - 15 minutes. Spoon into cool crust. Cover and freeze until firm, at least six hours. Sauce: Puree strawberries and juice in food processor. Add currant jelly. Stir in fresh strawberries. Pour on cake.
