Frosted Maple Pecan White Chip Cookies image

These would probably be just an ordinary chocolate chip cookie made with white chips, then comes the maple flavoring - WOW!! What a fantastic flavor and with a little bit of frosting, simply delicious!!

Number Of Ingredients 15

3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
2 cups NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Premier White Morsels
1/2 cup chopped pecans
4 cups powdered sugar
4 -6 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, softened
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 cup pecan halves

Steps:

  • Combine flour and baking soda in medium bowl.
  • Beat brown sugar, vegetable shortening, butter, eggs, maple syrup, and vanilla in a large mixer bowl until creamy.
  • Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  • Stir in morsels and chopped pecans.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets,.
  • Bake in preheated 350F oven for 9-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  • MAPLE FROSTING: Combine 4 cups powdered sugar, 4-6 tablespoons milk, 1/4 cup softened butter or margarine and 1 teaspoons maple flavoring in medium bowl; stir until smooth. Spread on cooled cookies.
  • Top with pecan halves.
