ELLEN'S INCREDIBLY CREAMY CHICKEN & NOODLES image

The secret to this recipe is the cream of chicken soup. For years I made the dish without the soup and one day it occurred to me to give it a try. Wow! I'll never go back. This is SO good!

1 box (32 oz.) chicken broth, any style you like
1 large can swanson premium white chunk chicken breast in water, not drained
1 can(s) campbell's condensed cream of chicken soup
12 - 16 oz kluski egg noodles
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • 1. In a 5-qt. Dutch oven, bring chicken broth to a boil over medium heat.
  • 2. Add undiluted cream of chicken soup and mix well.
  • 3. Add the noodles; flake the chicken and add that. Add salt and pepper; mix thoroughly.
  • 4. Lower the heat and cover pot, letting simmer for 45 minutes. If broth is too thin, leave uncovered and simmer another 10 or 15 minutes.
  • 5. If it's too thick, dilute with a little water, cover and heat just until everythng is hot.
  • 6. Serve over hot mashed potatoes.
