Double Fudge Cake image

Every time I make this, I get lots and lots of requests for the recipe - It really is over the top yummy!

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 box(es) german chocolate cake mix (plus eggs, oil & water to make cake)
1 can(s) sweetened condensed mix
30 - caramels
1 stick(s) real butter
6 ounce(s) package chocolate chips
1 cup(s) chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Read through directions before you begin. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake mix according to directions on box. Pour half of cake mix in 9x13 pan that has been sprayed with Pam or Baker's Joy. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Melt in pan over medium heat: caramels, sweetened condensed milk, and butter until smooth. Have ready to pour over cake when it comes out of the oven.
  • Pour remaining batter over caramel mixture. Top with chocolate chips and pecans. Put back in 350 degree oven for an additional 25 to 30 minutes (depending upon your oven). Cool completely.
