DATE CAKE image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 2/3 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup water
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped dromedary dates
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Measure all ingredients into large mixing bowl. Blend for 30 seconds on low speed with an electric mixer. Beat for 3 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into greased and floured 9x9x2" pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes at 350.
