Creamy Rice Pudding image

This easy and delicious recipe was given to me by a very good cook named Donna. It was her family's recipe. Photo by Food.com.

Number Of Ingredients 6

5 c whole milk
1/2 c sugar
1/2-3/4 c rice (arborio)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 can(s) (5 ounces) evaporated milk

Steps:

  • 1. Cook milk, sugar and rice on medium heat for 1 1/2 hours on stove top. Stir often. Take the rice mixture off heat.
  • 2. Beat eggs with vanilla. Remove 1 cup of the rice mixture and stir in beaten eggs. Add evaporated milk. Add mix back to pot and simmer gently for 2 minutes, just until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • 3. Chill and top with cinnamon, if desired.
