Creamy Alfredo Sauce image

Making this sauce in the blender, was something I found on the internet. As I was preparing the original recipe, I found myself changing things as I went along. More heavy cream, more Parmesan cheese, less garlic, heating on top of the stove, and then thickening the sauce. It turned out awesome! A real winner!

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 c heavy cream
1 c freshly grated parmesan cheese (this makes a difference)
2 clove garlic, pressed
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp butter, softened
1 Tbsp flour

Steps:

  • 1. Place the first 5 ingredients in a blender. Puree until the mixture thickens.
  • 2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour and butter together, and make a paste. (a raw roux)
  • 3. Place the pureed ingredients in a sauce pan, and start to warm gently, it will thin down quite a bit. Bring to a little simmer.
  • 4. Now to thicken your Alfredo Sauce, add the butter/flour paste. Whisk together, until totally blended. Simmer lightly, until thickened.
  • 5. Serve over your favorite type of pasta!
