Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or spray oblong casserole dish.
- Spread thawed potatoes on bottom of casserole dish evenly. Sprinkle salt and pepper over potatoes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soup, butter and sour cream and mix well. Pour mixture over potatoes.
- Layer shredded cheese over mixture and cover top with crushed crackers.
- Bake for about 45 minutes or until top is golden brown and bubbly. Let set for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
