CORNBREAD, SAUSAGE AND PECAN DRESSING image

1 - 16oz pkg ground pork sausage
1 large onion, chopped
2 large celery ribs, chopped
Cornbread (about 5 c crumbled)
1 1/2 c chopped pecans
1/4 c fresh parsley
1 1/2 c chicken broth
1/4 c dry sherry
1/4 c heavy cream
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp thyme
Optional:
Soak dried cranberries or cherries in dry sherry and add to mixture...or saute granny smith apples
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Steps:

  • Cook sausage in large skillet; Remove sausage; Saute onion and celery in drippings; Combine cornbread, sausage, vegetables and remaining ingredients in large bowl; Spoon into greased 13X9; Bake at 350 got 30 min
